He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Rehabilitation and his Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Central Missouri, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He later completed a Ph.D. in Vocational Education for the Handicapped at the University of Missouri. Dr. Caffrey writes from a deeply personal perspective. Following a cervical spinal cord injury sustained during a high school wrestling match in 1972, he brings lived experience to his understanding of resilience, adaptation, and the human spirit—insights that shape both his professional work and his storytelling.
