She received her BA in Fine Arts at the University of Southern California, where, in the depths of the library, she first became acquainted with the allure and architecture of New Orleans. After spending two years in the French Quarter, her debut picture book, The House, the Ghost, and Me, was written under the watchful eye of her newborn baby. She lives, once again, in Portland with her husband and two daughters.
