Ina Mansur became one of Bedford, Massachusetts' most noted historians. With her husband Lawrence adding illustrations, the couple published many books about Bedford during the 1970s and 1980s, including, A New England Church, 1730-1834; A Pictorial History of Bedford, Massachusetts, 1729 to Modern Times; and Bedford Center in the 1800s. In 1975, Ina began writing a column called "Bedford Profiles," for the local newspaper. By the time of her death in 1988, she had published over 100 of these articles. This book offers the complete series of Bedford Profiles and provides future generations of Bedford citizens and researchers access to Ina's knowledge and scholarship.
