1775 Ireland . Unknown to the siblings, one of their brothers, Conor, who was thought dead, traveled on the same ship to the colonies, only below deck with thirty prisoners of war. He is separated from his sisters upon arrival, never aware of their proximity. Kerry and Eirinn find contentment at the tavern until an Iroquois attack forces them into the river. Terrified and struggling to survive, each believes the other had drowned when going over the waterfalls during the escape. Driven by the need for survival and belonging, they suffer hardships through the years. Kerry finds a home in an American army camp while Eirinn, seeking protection after being kidnapped by trappers, is adopted by an Oneida native tribe. With other prisoners, Conor is assigned to labor in a mine. When an explosion occurs, he seizes the opportunity to find his way to General Benedict Arnold's regiment to fight for America’s independence. This is the story of three unforgettable immigrants seeking their place in the new world, marked by love and loss, as they created their new identities as Americans.
