When Anna, the enigmatic woman who portrait painter Sean Delaney has fallen in love with, goes missing, no one will help him find her. Before she vanished, Anna accused criminals of murdering her art-forger father James to stop him blabbing, and was convinced that corrupt police connived with them to suppress the true facts around his 'accidental' death. But by getting involved, Sean finds he has to straddle the wafer-thin line between agent provocateur and undercover agent, when he joins the team who are forging works of art, making enemies of criminals and police alike.
