With a focus on the synergy between human cognition and AI, this book provides an innovative framework for understanding how technology can enhance or challenge our educational systems. Key Benefits: Discover the key differences between human intelligence and AI, and how they interact in the learning process. - Learn about the SYNAPSE Model, a new approach to understanding how the brain learns and adapts. - Gain practical insights into how AI can support or disrupt sensory input, memory, and emotional regulation in learning. - Explore strategies for fostering self-regulation, motivation, and curiosity in AI-driven education. - Understand the ethical implications of AI in education and its impact on creativity and cognitive diversity. In The Learning Revolution , Chardonnens empowers educators, students, and tech enthusiasts alike to rethink the future of education in an AI-invaded world. Can artificial intelligence help us learn? Yes, if—and the rest of the answer is so complicated, it takes a human to spell it out. Sarah Chardonnens is a deeply committed, keenly proficient educator in music and education. She brought her singular intensity to studies of how people learn, and how AI helps and hinders that process. This book is important because AI is making it harder for people to develop the skills we need. We actually need AI systems to help us overcome the learning disabilities that the technology has engendered. The principles and specifics—including for developers of educational AI systems—are here. Co-Founder and Chairman of the American Society for AI Hello dear Reader! Writing The Learning Revolution has been a deeply personal and committed journey. This book is the result of many years of scientific research, passionate reflection, and close observation of how we teach and learn. I wanted to understand how learning truly works — why some paths lead to growth and confidence, while others lead to frustration or disengagement. I also felt a growing sense of urgency: artificial intelligence is rapidly entering our schools, our homes, and our everyday lives, and we need to be ready. This book is not written for experts alone. I poured all my energy into making it clear, human, and useful for everyone — parents, teachers, students, and anyone curious about how we learn and how AI is changing that process. My hope is that this book will guide, enlighten, and inspire you.  Sarah Sarah Chardonnens is an expert in learning science, educational innovation, and AI and human cognition, helping individuals and organizations learn smarter. A trained musician and pedagogue, she teaches at the University of Fribourg, where she specializes in teacher training, research, and pedagogical development. Having trained at the Fribourg Conservatory from a young age, Sarah has won numerous competitions, performed as a soloist with major ensembles, and recorded multiple albums spanning classical and contemporary repertoires. Alongside her musical career, she is passionate about martial arts, which has deepened her understanding of the body's adaptability. With a PhD in education sciences, Sarah's research explores cognitive development and the impact of artificial intelligence on student learning, teacher roles, and the future of teacher training. She believes that verbalizing metacognitive mechanisms enhances the learning process and continues to shape the field of modern education.
