The Living Vortex chronicles a 50 year program of research and drug development for the treatment of intractable diseases such as cancer. The text derives from conversations in the laboratory recorded over fifteen years as notes on the research of the day. These conversations were often highly speculative and sometimes as seemingly far afield as flowers being living vortices. The treatments developed employ charge transfer species to restore the living beat of the organism. If these reactions can be visualized as a vortex that encloses the structure of the reaction, then we refer to it as the living vortex, because somehow it is taking part in the human pulse and in its living expression. We have located a trace of that life energy and have studied its geometries and vectors made up of a swirling mass of packed molecules. So we have a geometric progression, an electronic pulsation that occurs under water and in the living state. This research led us to consider the electronics of the biological cell. In the book we propose that the system-wide pulse originated in oxygen radicals. This pulsation is essential for the living state, because the pulse generates the waveforms that are the basis of signaling. The higher living forms have adopted internal electronic signals. This signaling is an advantage to the organism and to its development. Signaling occurs in the blood for example. Signals connect the cells of the organism to the changing environment. Throughout we discuss new methods of drug development employing electrochemical methods in studying and analyzing candidate compounds.
