Hidden away within the streets of Kawasaki, Japan exists a much older style of Okinawan Gōjū-ryū Karate-dō that has been handed down for three generations. The Senbukai, first opened opened by Kanki Izumikawa in 1939, is now under the watchful eye direction of Katsuya Izumikawa, the second son and Sandaime Sōke. Born in 1945, Katsuya Izumikawa has studied Budō since his childhood and is the inheritor of his father's Karate-do that has been passed down directly from Seiko Higa. In addition, Katsuya Izumikawa was also a disciple of Keisetsu Yoshimaru of Sagawa-ha Daitō-ryū Aikijujtusu. This is the first time that any accurate, detailed content has been published specifically on the Okinawan Gōjū-ryū Karate of the Izumikawa Lineage. This book elucidates the hidden techniques of Okinawan Gōjū-ryū from a unique perspective, revealing new techniques for the first time.
