The Mighty Thor adds another volume to his saga of Asgardian adventure that set the standard for grand adventure in the Marvel manner! Thor is lucky to have Hercules at his side this time around, because Loki has teamed with Firelord in a bid to usurp Odin's throne. Meanwhile, Jane Foster has returned and Thor is torn between aiding her on Earth and the defense of Asgard. Before it's over Thor will battle the gods of Egypt to save Odin from death itself. Then, it's a battle through time (with dinosaurs!) after which Thor returns to Asgard to face the one and only Mangog, followed by a star-spanning quest. Also featuring a team-up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Warriors Three and Hercules in their own solo adventures! Collecting: The Mighty Thor #229-266, The Mighty Thor Annual #5-6, Marvel Premiere #26, and Marvel Spotlight #30   Written by GERRY CONWAY & LEN WEIN with ROY THOMAS, BILL MANTLO, DAVID ANTHONY KRAFT, STEVE ENGLEHART & ROGER STERN Penciled by JOHN BUSCEMA & WALTER SIMONSON with RICH BUCKLER, SAL BUSCEMA, PABLO MARCOS, TONY DEZUNIGA & GEORGE TUSKA Cover by GIL KANE & DAN ADKINS After co-creating DC's Swamp Thing, Len Wein (1948-2017) moved to Marvel for lengthy runs on the company's biggest titles — Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Hulk and Thor — and helped launch the landmark Giant-Size X-Men #1. Returning to DC as an editor, Wein oversaw an influx of British writing talent, highlighted by Alan Moore's historic Watchmen miniseries. Wein also worked in television and animation, returning to his roots to develop a Swamp Thing screenplay. After earning acclaim for DC's award-winning "Manhunter" feature, Walter Simonson moved to Marvel where he had a revered run writing and drawing Thor. He collaborated with his wife, Louise, on both X-Factor and Wildstorm's World of Warcraft, later returning to Marvel to illustrate Avengers.   John Buscema (1927-2002) literally wrote the book on being a Marvel artist, How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way. Soon after beginning the Marvel Age of Comics, Stan Lee recruited Buscema to the Marvel Bullpen. Buscema followed a long run on Avengers with the first Silver Surfer series. By the time of his retirement in 1996, Buscema had penciled nearly every Marvel title, including his personal favorite, Conan the Barbarian.   Roger Stern enjoyed well-regarded runs on Spider-Man — in which he introduced Monica Rambeau and the Hobgoblin — and Avengers. At DC, he co-created Starman (Will Payton) before contributing to the 1992 "Death of Superman" storyline. He later returned to Marvel to write Spider-Man and related titles.   Steve Englehart 's contributions to the Marvel Universe began with the Beast's solo feature in Amazing Adventures, and continued on into the pages of Avengers—where he co-created Mantis—and Captain America. Englehart's Dr. Strange storyline in Marvel Premiere established the character as Sorcerer Supreme. At DC in the 1970s, he wrote Batman, Mr. Miracle, the Justice League, and other major heroes.  And, back at Marvel in the 1980s, he wrote the first few years of West Coast Avengers and Silver Surfer.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
