Eternity of silence. That was Medusa's curse for a sin she did not commit. Eternity of solitude. That was Danaë's punishment for being born a girl. Two women, searching for their purpose in a world where the gods manipulate reality, loved ones betray their own blood, and truth is darker than reality. The Raven Society's hunt for the Book of the Veiled has driven them deep into the treacherous depths of the Otherworld and onto the City of the Unspoken. As they unravel ancient myths and encounter forgotten gods, their friendship is tested in a battle against unseen souls and unspoken tales that threaten to tear them apart. The stakes are higher than ever as they fight to survive the latest retelling of history. Sacrifices must be made, and the group must decide how far it will go to save humanity. From Greek mythology to the Halls of Valhalla, join the Raven Society as they discover for themselves who the real monster is. The hunter or the hunted? The author is a keen student of history, and not only weaves characters from different mythologies into the plot, but gives them modern voices. The Myth of the Monster elevates the stories of three of these characters in particular - Lilith, Medusa, and Danae - and gives them much needed depth. The continuing narrative of Chloe and The Raven Society takes something of a backseat while these other plotlines develop, but I think the device works, and all the threads come together in a way that makes sense. There's plenty of tension among both friends and foes, and Chloe herself continues to mature nicely. - Amazon Review I finished reading The Myth and the Monster, book 2 in the series, this morning. 7 hours later and I am still seeing the Library of the Unread. The author magically fused the myths and legends we all know; with the history we thought we knew. Its an amazing story and as an avid reader I found myself championing the Raven Society characters as they endeavor to save the Stories from being forgotten. This fast paced story will have you up late at night just to read one more chapter. - Amazon Review I read the first book and fell in love currently on the third this author has a completely different style of writing I love the history to the stories with her twist to it, you can tell her genuine love for her art of writing. -Goodreads Review Author of the Raven Society, R.L.
