American Indian Studies essential topics, Native Worldview and Philosophy, and Traditional Teaching Methodologies are all important components in understanding the Native Experience. Starkey, Jr. has been an educator for over four decades, teaching in the public schools of Washington at all levels. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Education at Antioch University Seattle and teaches American Indian Studies at Bellevue College in the Continuing Education Department. He is an enrolled member of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe, Pembina Band, and his family is originally from the White Earth Ojibwe Reservation in Northern Minnesota. He has been a consultant and parent committee member of the Eastside Native American Education Program for over 35 years.
