Ricky King was a boy who grew up in a saloon, where his mother was held captive. He fights his way out in his early teens only to turn into an outlaw. He is sent off to fight in the war where he ranks up and is discharged early. He becomes a U.S. Marshal and is doing good things with his life. He finds love with Diane, but married Willamina. Diane is girl who loses everything very early on in her life, but she gains things that she never thought she would. Her love blossoms for more than just a man that saved her life, but for the children she takes in her charge. The whole town of Leavenworth Kansas rallies to the aid of Diane when things go from bad to worse and she's humiliated. She wants nothing more than to be loved the way she deserves to be.
