Originally released in 2016, this volume is a collection of ‘Tips” for exhibitors in preparing stamp exhibits. While stamp exhibiting has changed greatly over the last decade, the key element remains: presenting philatelic material with the necessary contextual information to engage readers and judges and help them understand and appreciate the exhibit. Fortunately, exhibitors have continually introduced new or improved techniques that can serve as examples for all of us. Beginning in 2009, Steve Zwillinger started writing a column for the American Stamp Dealer & Collector magazine, offering illustrated Exhibiting Tips that were new, innovative, or just plain useful to exhibitors. His focal point in stamp exhibiting is sharing techniques for preparing stamp exhibits so that exhibitors have a bigger ‘toolbox’ of techniques to choose from or to experiment with. As interest in his writing increased, he wrote columns on philatelic exhibiting for The Philatelic Exhibitor and the WE [Women Exhibitors] Bulletin. This volume is primarily a collection of selected published Tips from his published columns supplemented by others not previously published. At that time, many of these tips were unknown to other exhibitors except those who saw them in the frames at a stamp show. Sadly, with many exhibits to see and much to do at a stamp show, there was little time for exhibitors to study individual pages and identify the exhibitors’ techniques. One of the intended goals of the book has been realized: Many exhibiting techniques highlighted here are now more widely known and employed by many exhibitors. Some of these can no longer be considered new or innovative. They all, however, remain useful. Some exhibitors have not seen this book. It has been out of print, and copies rarely appear on used book or public auction sites. For exhibitors who did not see the book when it was initially published available and for new exhibitors who have begun exhibiting since the book has been out of print, this volume will be welcome. There are two differences between this reprinted edition and the original 2016 version. First, this edition includes, although the original edition did not, a complete Tip-by-Tip content listing. Second, the appendix Exhibit Page Production by Gordon Eubanks is not included. This is because a 2019 revised version of his appendix is posted on the website of the American Association of Philatelic Exhibitors (aape.org). The original layout, prepared by Randy Neil, is unchanged.` Steve Zwillinger has prepared nearly 30 exhibits and received many gold medals for his exhibits.
