The Phoenix is the rite of admission to Neophyte, the first degree of the Hermetic Order of the Star and Snake. The first degree is called the 'Grade of Earth' because it corresponds to Malkuth, the Kingdom. The ritual has its basis in the Golden Dawn Neophyte ceremony. Within it are the keys to forging the necessary inner plane contacts. We also include here the admission to the grade of Zelator and Liber 717 or Zain, a carefully adapted version of the Bornless Ritual for the Adeptus Minor. The three rituals of initiation each come with a full commentary. The 'flashing colours' are particular to the Magick of Light and have a special rôle in theurgical rites. The book is therefore printed on photographic paper and includes 35 luxurious full colour diagrams and graphic illustrations. Oliver St. John founded the Thelemic Magical Collegium Ordo Astri in 2000 e.v. He was accepted into Kenneth Grant's Typhonian Order in the same year and has contributed to Starfire, Journal of the New Aeon . St. John has also worked with Mary Long (author and student of Dion Fortune), Gareth Knight, Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki (co-founder of Servants of the Light Association ), and Olivia Robertson (co-founder of the Fellowship of Isis ).

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
