Ten percent of proceeds donated to the American Heart Association. The Racer's Edge chronicles the life and philosophies of legendary swimming coach Kent Kirchner , an Ohio native who spent time at the youth, high school and college levels during his prestigious career. Kirchner comes from an auto racing background. His father, Kirk, was a driver and taught him the values of hard work, determination and competition. Kirchner garnered numerous honors over the years and won six state championships with The Woodlands High School in Texas. Following his retirement, life threw him a curveball. The Racer's Edge tells the inspirational story of man who has touched countless lives. Through its primary elements of auto racing and swimming, it conveys the values that Kirchner holds closest to his heart: competing, working hard, persevering through life's challenges, treating people the right way, cultivating a healthy family life and maintaining a strong relationship with God. Ten percent of the proceeds from this book are donated to the American Heart Association , a nonprofit organization that funds cardiovascular medical research, educates consumers on healthy living and fosters appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke.
