Seventeen-year-old Alex has only known the hard streets of Camden, New Jersey. Living in a fractured home, under the weight of his father's alcohol addiction, and no real support, Alex found family where he could - among his gang, where loyalty is earned through blood and sacrifice. But, when he learns that his estranged mother has died, he's hit with a revelation he never expected: he has a younger brother, Andreas. Andreas represents everything Alex has grown to hate - innocence, hope, and a reminder of the family he feels he'll never truly have. Wrestling with resentment and haunted by years of anger, Alex faces his toughest challenge yet: a battle against his own inner demons, to accept Andreas as his brother. Torn between the gang life that's given him belonging, and the chance for a fresh start with this newfound family, Alex must make a choice. To protect his brother and seek redemption, Alex will have to confront the darkest parts of himself and decide if he's strong enough to walk away from the only life he's known. In a city that's tested him at every turn, Alex must choose to fight for the family he never thought he could have - or risk losing him forever.
