For over a century, the Snohomish Carnegie has played a pivotal role in fostering literacy, education, and civic engagement. From the first imaginings of a library in 1873 to a dramatic restoration in 2019, the city library has always held a place of significance and honor within its community. Produced in partnership with the Snohomish Carnegie Foundation, this book is a tribute to one of the city's most iconic landmarks. It offers a complete history of the Snohomish Carnegie building, as well as its librarians, alongside historical images and original documents. For every book sold, $1 will be donated to the Snohomish Carnegie Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to the preservation and continuing legacy of the historic building. Taylor Russell is a history writer and Snohomish High graduate. She shares her knowledge through books and guided tours as the founder of SnohomishWalks.
