The agreement doesn't work. Canada's outdated constitution was designed to serve central Canada at the expense of the West. Efforts to reform the constitution have failed. Independence parties and movements have come and gone without success. The West needs to pursue independence and independence advocates need to change their approach. In December of 1980, the Globe and Mail described western separatism as “primitive and confused, groping for a platform and searching for a leader.” Here we are over forty years later and the statement is as true as ever. The Sovereigntist's Handbook is a training manual for independence supporters. Creating a solid base of support for independence needs to be done one supporter at a time. Advocates for independence need a guide and this is it.
