Before the story of God’s grace intersected with the story of Brad’s life, he did not realize he was missing out on the heart of his relationship with God...grace. He could define grace as God’s unmerited favor but did not know the favor that was unmerited. He knew the acronym G.R.A.C.E., God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense, but did not know the riches of God’s grace. He knew the song Amazing Grace but did not know why grace was so amazing. He knew we are saved by grace but did not understand the grace that saved him. He was attending church and Bible studies, participating in small groups, and serving on a ministry team. He was practicing the spiritual disciplines such as reading his Bible, memorizing and meditating on Scripture, and having daily devotions. He was leading Bible studies, speaking, and sharing Jesus with others. He was doing the “right things” spiritually but without any understanding of grace. Then the story of God’s grace intersected with the story of Brad’s life, and his life has never been the same! Maybe you can relate to Brad. You have heard about grace, know you are saved by grace, and have sung about grace. You are doing the “right things” spiritually. If this is you, get ready…the story of God’s grace is about to intersect with the story of your life!
