Long overdue, this is a description of the Jewish Community of Lebanon over a few decades. It is an attempt to explain the way this minority grew and to elucidate its development as it relates to the big Maghen Abraham synagogue, since its inception, in 1925, until its destruction around 1975. This is an account of the trials and tribulations of this community through those years. Furthermore, it is also a narrative of its more joyful moments during the high holidays or the special events, which were shared by most of its members. It is hoped that this will help the younger generation, born outside Lebanon, understand the strange customs in which they had to grow up.
