Travelers in foreign lands, especially the Morocco, are able to easily find drugs of every type for recreational use and for import-export. The magnificent sights of the Muslim community by day, conceal the behind-the-scenes activities of the night. Out there are the "Users," who want to capitalize on the lucrative markets of the United States and its neighbors. The lure of easy money and the icy thrill of breaking all the rules prove to be a virtually irresistible attraction to young American tourists and their counterparts around the world. The combination of free access to copious amounts of drugs, sex, danger and excitement lead travelers to taste the forbidden fruits and encourages them to partake in the chase of modern ecstasy; sometimes with fatal results. Delaney Henderson was born in France and grew up in the West Los Angeles in Malibu Canyon. She relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where she has lived most of her life except for two years in Portland Oregon. She currently lives and works in Berkeley, California. Delaney writes novels, short stories and screenplays. She also is an accomplished fine artist, having exhibited her oil paintings in galleries and museums throughout the West Coast. She works freelance in the fields of technology and technical writing.Delaney studied writing with the ‘Dangerous Writers Group’ on the Oregon Coast while living in Portland and credits the group as being influential in her approach to writing. The idea is to write about those things which may be difficult or uncomfortable which theoretically have more of a potential to emotionally resonate with the reader. By combining this approach with an entertaining story the writing moves beyond ‘therapy’ and becomes a good read. She holds a degree from the Academy of Art University in Fine Art and an additional degree from San Francisco State University. Delaney has traveled to Europe, Morocco, Canada and Mexico and lived in France for several months at age 13. ‘Perhaps a future novel will be my experiences of living in Southern France at age 13, I have wonderful memories of it and it hasn’t been written about from a child point of view.‘ In more recent years she has done residencies in Santa Fe New Mexico and in Basin, a small town in Montana. She currently is working on a novel set in Oregon.
