Evangelist Gagan Gurung, a refugee from Nepal, had been scheduled for baptism while in Nepal. On his way to the ritual he heard a voice say "Run from this baptism." He ran into the mountains and hid at a Buddhist temple. He was later brought to Christ through a miracle at a Bible College in India. He spent 22 years in the camp before coming as a refugee to St. Louis, Missouri. Through his ministry in St. Louis more than forty Nepalese immigrants have received baptism.
