This is a story about a boy with a guitar and music to play, a girl from the midwest who loved and followed him, and the largest generation in history. The "Baby Boomers", known as the "Vietnam Generation", are my generation, born in hope and optimism following one war, and shaped in division and conflict by another. We were a voice for change and progress that demanded to be heard, coming of age in the middle of the Vietnam draft expansion. We came back from this experience and picked up our lives in an angry world that often didn't want to recognize us. We left our mark on education, communications, politics, culture and, most of all, music. Our personal story started in the midwest, traveled to San Francisco, took a tour to Vietnam, and traveled the world, always playing out to the accompaniment of a 1936-000-18 Martin guitar.
