Grace Johnson is a 16-year-old Christian girl living during the Civil War era. Time and time again, her faith is put to the test as she and her familyencounter many difficult times. Her father not being a believer greatly complicates matters, especially when a preacher’s son named David asks for Grace’s hand in marriage. Mrs. Johnson is a constant encouragement to her daughter as she discovers that through all of life’s trials, God isfaithful. Grace realizes that she needs to trust the Lord in all things and do what is right no matter the circumstance.
