The White Stairs is a book of poetry rooted in transformation. Always moving, growing, retreating, entangling to the point where it's impossible to tell whether the narrator is ascending or descending. Jacquelyn Merrill Ruiz was raised in New England, forged in Los Angeles, and embraced by Cincinnati. She's written all manner of genres for years, but it was her poetry that earned her Master of Professional Writing at University of Southern California. Her most recent book, "The White Stairs", is a poetry collection rooted in transformation. She currently lives in Ohio, where she toasts the full moon with kombucha and gathers thunderheads for later use.
