Come along on Ben's Big Home Education Adventure! The Wonderful World of Ben follows the journey of seven year old Ben, a curious and sensitive boy who struggles with the noise and overwhelm of traditional schooling. His parents notice his spark fading and make a bold decision to embrace a new way of learning which tailors to Ben's needs and individuality. With the world as his classroom, Ben embarks on an adventure of learning discovery - from painting like Van Gogh, to baking maths inspired treats, and diving into the depths of history at museums. Suddenly, Ben's days are filled with creativity, curiosity, and freedom, proving that meaningful learning doesn't require four walls, or a school bell. Told in engaging rhyme, this uplifting story champions alternative education, celebrates neurodiversity, and shows that learning can happen anywhere. Lorraine Blanche lives in South East London with her husband and two children. A lifelong storyteller, she nurtured a love of books in her family while setting aside her own writing during the busy years of motherhood. Now she writes heartfelt picture books inspired by real life. The Wonderful World of Ben is her debut. A former home-educating mother to her neurodiverse son, Lorraine witnessed how learning beyond the classroom reduced anxiety and sparked curiosity. Noticing few children's books reflecting this journey, she wrote the story she couldn't find - hoping home-educating families feel seen, understood, and less alone in their home school journeys.
