Life can be likened to a long journey that we each must walk. It is full of joys, sorrows, adventures, surprises, challenges, friendships, loneliness, ups, downs, sweet, salty, bitter and sour. But do you know where you are heading? Do you know your destination? Do you know the meaning and purpose of your life? Think for a moment about how different Man is from Animals. Man is daily involved with issues of right and wrong, truth and falsehood, good and evil. Animals are not. Have you ever noticed how much our daily thoughts and speech revolve around these issues? Have you ever wondered why we are like this whereas animals are not? Herein lies the key to our life. We are each made in the image of God. His imprint is upon us. Unless and until we understand and treasure this gift that God has imparted to us we will quite understandably feel “lost” and purposeless. Jesus used parables to convey “things hidden since the foundation of the world”. These parables speak to the meaning, significance, and implications of being made in the image of God. They provide us with a roadmap and navigation instruments for our journey. The journey is long and difficult and we need to travel with Jesus as our Guide and Protector. This book could just as well have been entitled “The Promise” because it is all about Jesus’ Promise to Mankind and to each one of us. It is all about how that Promise is going to be fulfilled. The world we live in may be full of uncertainty, insecurity, and danger but God has given us His Promise for the journey and He will see us through to a glorious destination. Read this book with an open mind and open heart. Ask Jesus to speak to you as you read. Ask Jesus to be by your side as you head on your journey.
