This memoir, in poetry and poetic prose, embarks on a narrative that ranges from the very old, Taiwanese Chinese, to the very new, English. It fuses both resources into a style of its own. A fascinating read for its words of self discovery as well as its strokes of mindful mindlessness. Marion Tzui Yang (1969-) was born in Formosa, grew up in Taichung. She moved to the United States in 1994. Since then she has written poems, painted pastels, developed smartphone applications, designed animations and puzzle games. Her work includes "This Jonquille: Poetry and Whatnot", "Poetry in Divination", "The World of Numbers: Where Did Middle Land Come From?". Her Android application, "Chinese Alphabet," helps beginning Chinese learners to copy and write all alphabet words there are with a workbook. Her latest picture book tells an amazing story of the Far East with nine numbers.
