1970s, Richardson, Texas. Jean Bergman had one dream her whole life: to be a loving wife, a dedicated mother, and to raise her family in one place for the rest of their lives. However, after moving to Chicago for her husband Arvin's new job, Jean finds herself lonely and overwhelmed. In time, she tragically discovers Arvin has been cheating on her with his secretary. Broken, Jean packs up her three boys and moves back to Texas, struggling to make ends meet and get food on the table. She reaches the end of herself, and wonders whether she will be alone forever, and if her sons will have the childhood she always prayed they would. In this powerful true story, based on the life of Margaret Swanzy, one woman learns to let God fill her with great strength and remind her that he has been there this whole time.
