Heath's story starts out with him facing a crisis in his life. He found himself falling out of love with Annemarie. Though he still liked her and didn't want to cause her pain, he had to admit to himself that he no longer loved her. Then one day, while walking down the street in town, he met Katharine and almost immediately realized he had fallen deeply in love with her. But a night of passion ended with her becoming with child. But was Heath the father or was her dead husband the father. Heath didn't know, but he was going to do the right thing anyway and marry here because he loved her.
