Father Frank receives a call that his friend Father Lee is in the hospital in Magnolia Bluff. An arsonist attacked his church and when Father Lee tried to put the fire out, he was hit over the head. Now, he is in a coma. But the doctors say the hit injury was not sufficient to cause the coma. Father Frank goes down to see if a long-time friend’s voice can wake Father Lee. As is his style, Father Frank asks many questions and looks at things from a different point of view. He is willing to do whatever he can to bring his friend out of the coma, even if it means questioning cartel members. But, the situation becomes even more complicated. As the unresponsive time lengthens, Father Frank realizes his friend is in a psychologically induced coma and he won't come out of it until some answers are found. And time is marching relentlessly forward.
