The years 1879 through 1883 were a prosperous and raucous time in Tombstone. Her people were typical of a booming, old West mining camp. From miners to merchants, from rustlers to hustlers, and from good women to soiled doves, Tombstone welcomed all. Miners came from Ireland, and restaurant and laundry merchants came from China. Cow-boys came from Texas, and gamblers came from other mining camps. The good women were doctors, merchants, dressmakers and homemakers; and the soiled doves had a row of cribs on 5th and 6th Street. These stories were originally published in the Tombstone Times since July 2019. Keith Davis and Janice Hendricks are the owners and editors of this free, monthly journal. They celebrated the journal’s 20th anniversary with the January 2022 issue.
