In 1983 and 1984, Dr. Donald E. Crim PhD. took a year sabbatical from his position at Colorado State University and lived at Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa with his wife and daughter. During that year, he participated in the Creating Coherence Program, worked on staff and studied MIU and the Fairfield community. After returning to CSU, he wrote this book about his experiences at MIU (now the Maharishi University of Management) and in the Transcendental Meditation movement Dr. Donald Emerson Crim received his PhD from Cornell University in 1973. He was instrumental in the founding of the Anthropology department at Colorado State University. He was initiated into Transcendental Meditation in 1975, and went on to receive his Sidhis technique. After retiring from CSU in 1997, he moved with his wife to Fairfield, IA whre he helped to create an instrumental music program for the Maharishi School for the Age of Enlightenment. He co-conducted the MSAE band with his daughter, Dorothy. He spent his remaining years teaching brass technique to students of MSAE.
