This is the most popular 10 inch retracted replacement trash chute hydraulic closer in the chute industry for primarily your trash and sometimes your linen chute door. But more often it is used for garbage chute doors as a hydrolic arm trash shoot door. The thick silver aluminum tube part of the cylinder measures 10 inches long, and 1" thick diameter. The thin rod measures 5/16" in thickness, and is in the retracted position by default. When your door opens completely the shaft extends itself an additional 5-1/2 inches, and measure 17 -1/2 total inches when fully extended and works as a trash chute door shock absorber.

Make sure you have an exact fit by measuring your current rubbish door. Make sure that it is compatible with one of the sized doors noted above.

If you are replacing the current trash chute door closer, then look at your existing hydraulic, and make sure that it has the pin fittings, and brackets on each end.
