Traveling Through Time is a collection of poetry weaved together to tell the story of one Black Man's journey while he lived learned and loved through the poverty of youth, the turbulence of the Jim Crow South, traumas of Vietnam all while discovering how to survive with PTSD and embrace his best self in an ever changing society. A graduate of Mansfield University with an English degree and a graduate student of Southern Illinois University where his education focused for creative writing. He served for the army during the Vietnam Conflict. His southern upbringing occurred during the transitional civil rights movement and the awakening of cultural rights in the United States. This awakening as well as military service created his personal unrest, understanding his PTSD diagnosis, and a drive to entertain civil rights communication, write reflective poetry, and support groups related to the struggles within ourselves and within our country.
