Treading in Toxicity is a scholarly self-help book aimed at providing both academics and professionals the tools they need to identify, understand, improve, and ultimately survive, toxic work environments. Combining personal experience with the research she conducted as a graduate student at the University of Southern California, Spaulding provides a thorough review of the subject’s extant literature, and begins to fill in the gaps with a set of survival strategies. Treading in Toxicity not only brings awareness and clarity to the increasingly important topic of toxic work environments, but provides solutions and hope to the workplace warriors who are not empowered, or in a position of power, to change them.
