For the first time, Lois Lane has almost everything she wants. Non-temporary home? Check. Dream job? Double check. Incredible BFFs? The absolute best. And now, her online crush, SmallvilleGuy, is coming to Metropolis. If all goes well, they’ll turn their long-distance friendship into a some-kind-of-fairy-tale romance. But when does all ever go well? Before she can check “boyfriend” off her list, Lois must take down a mad scientist plus a trio of mutant teens, protect the elusive flying man from the feds (including her dad), and navigate her very first date with SmallvilleGuy. In the follow-up to FALLOUT and DOUBLE DOWN, Gwenda Bond’s reimagination of DC Comics’s first leading lady takes on her toughest challenge yet: Love. Most Anticipated Book of 2017 Gwenda Bond has won me twice over with her two previous Lois Lane novels, Fallout and Double Down. Her Lois is clever, wry, but always with a drive for truth and justice in equal measure. Quite frankly, Bond is the best writer of Lois Lane we've seen in years. I can't be more thrilled that we're getting a third book in the series. If you're a fan of Lois Lane and Clark Kent (yes, he's in there, too) and you haven't been reading Bond's novels, you are seriously missing out.-- "Book Riot" With Superman about to get his third live-action television show (after Smallville and Lois & Clark), it's only fitting that his partner-in-crime, Lois Lane, also gets a chance to step into the televisual spotlight. Bond's series of books -- all of which follow teenage Lois' adventures after moving to Metropolis -- would serve as great source material for a potential series. Not only do Bond's books feature Lois working with a group of her student reporter friends to break stories for "The Scoop," a subsidiary of the Daily Planet (her eventual employer), but she's also got a rapidly budding online relationship with Clark Kent SmallvilleGuy. Think Veronica Mars but set in Metropolis, with plenty of superheroic shenanigans.-- "Entertainment Weekly" You can't keep a good reporter down -- especially when she's not even made it to the Daily Planet just yet.-- "Hollywood Reporter" Gwenda Bond is an author of the young adult books Girl on a Wire, The Woken Gods, and Blackwood. She has also written for Publishers Weekly, Locus, and the Los Angeles Times, among others, and has been a guest on NPR's Weekend Edition. She has an MFA in Writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts' program in writing for children and young adults. Gwenda lives in a hundred-year-old house in Lexington, Kentucky, with her husband, author Christopher Rowe, and their menagerie: Hemingway the Cat, Polydactyl, LLC; Miss Emma the Dog-Girl, CPA; and Puck the Puppy, INC.
