Have you ever wondered why there are so many religions in the world? Have you ever wondered if the Bible is really true? Whether you have grown up around a devoutly religious family member, if you consider yourself to be devoutly religious, or if you consider yourself to be anti-religious, we have all heard about a book called "The Bible." A lot of individual religions use the Scriptures as the basis—or in part—of their beliefs and teachings. Does that mean all of these different ideas or religions are really just the same? Does that mean that we, individually, get to pick which "flavor" we like? Using the Scriptures, the accepted historical narrative, and facts, the author has presented the case that there is a potential "Truthache" among us. This book is a collection of writings aimed at employing critical thinking, logic, and common sense while being open-minded, humble, and honest. The Author Makes the argument that the term "all are deceived" has a very real tone to it. Comparing historical writings, religious dogma, and facts with the Bible leads to this very heartfelt and truthful journey down this very intriguing pathway. Truthache, by Mike Jeffries. Copyright 2023. Sling & Stone Publishing (Examples taken from the book) Example from Chapter 10 – Paul and Acts: We have to admit that there might be complications in understanding exactly what Paul is saying in his letters. We can marry that with the fact that Peter warned us to not twist Paul’s words to our own destruction; it might be wise to stop and watch for a minute. I am confident that Paul spoke to people a lot more than he wrote to them. He told them about the Way and he told them about the truth. Some verses say he discussed this daily. He wrote to groups of believers with the same concepts and also sent encouragement to continue what he had orally taught them. If there is any confusion about what Paul wrote, then let’s observe how he acts and see if Paul is a hypocrite. We can look at the Book of ACTionS and see what observations are to be made; I am a people watcher anyway. Example from Chapter 20 – Holy, Holy People, and Approval: When the Apostle Paul is quoted from his letter to Timothy, “Every Scripture passage is inspired by God. All of them are useful for teaching, pointing out errors, correcting people, and training them for a life that has God’s approval. They equip God’s servants so that they are completely prepared to do good things.”— it might be wise to consider that ‘the Scriptures’ ended with the Book of Malachi when Paul made this statement. It might be equally wise to consider that the Book of Malachi ends with, “Remember the teachings of my servant Moses, the rules and regulations that I gave him”. Example from Chapter 26 – Aleph Bet You: Genesis 10:5-7 From these descendants the people of the coastlands spread into their own countries. Each nation had its own language and families. Ham’s descendants were Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan. Cush’s descendants were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. Raamah’s descendants were Sheba and Dedan. Notice here where it says that Egypt and Canaan were not born until after the flood? Combine that with the logic that Egypt and Canaan are not families or languages to be scattered yet. Remember we are discussing what happened after the flood? That means that the Egyptian and Canaanite languages had not yet been born, and neither could have been the “one” original language that Yahweh speaks of. It’s also probably safe to assume that before the flood there was only one language. According to Yahweh, there was one language until He changed it, well after the flood.
