The US Army Master Gunner Identification badge is awarded to Army soldiers who have earned one of the eight gunnery courses, demonstrating expertise with a specific class of weapon. The design of this identification badge was approved by The U.S. Institute of Heraldry in 2019. This badge displays a laurel wreath enclosing a pile of four weapons including a sabre, musket, cannon, and missile. Each of the weapons represent a specific branch of the US Army. Beneath the laurel wreath is a rounded plaque reading “MASTER GUNNER.” This badge comes in a silver oxide finish, is approximately 2” in diameter, and is approved for wear.
