U9-EAMN model is the latest HDMI HDMI 2.0b 4K@60Hz, HDR , Dolby Vision, audio extractor to support the latest eARC TV for it to work with an HDMI audio receiver, the "To AVR" port goes to the regular HDMI input of the AV receiver; the HDMI "INPUT" port connects to the HDMI video source, such as a Blu-ray player; the "To ARC TV" port is to be connected to the ARC / eARC HDMI port of the TV if it supports ARC / eARC, or any HDMI input port of the TV if the TV doesn't support ARC. For TV eARC application: Make sure the CEC and eARC functions of the TV is enabled, set the eARC switch to the "ON" position, and the EDID switch to "OUT2" position, power up the unit with the included USB power cable with a CONSTANT DC 5V USB power charger; do not use a cell phone / tablet USB charger which may have a dynamic output voltage. The eARC audio will be passed to the HDMI receiver when the eARC mode is on, and when eARC mode is on, the TV's own built-in speaker will not have sound. To extract HDMI audio from the HDMI INPUT port, set the eARC switch to OFF position, set the EDID switch to OUT2 position, the HDMI audio from the connected "Blu-ray Player" will be extractor to the connected HDMI receiver. To use the built-in speaker of the TV, set the eARC switch to OFF, set the EDID switch to OUT1. The HDMI output signal to the TV is always identical to the HDMI input signal, no modification, the HDMI signal to the AVR is audio only.
