With Under the Broken Halo, her autobiography, Laura M. Parks hopes to reach out to women that have gone through similar circumstances. The abuse suffered as a child led her life in an aimless direction, jumping from one relationship to another, always running from her troubles. Married three times, with four children, Laura never felt as though she got it right. Each relationship lasted twice as long as the previous, but there was still something missing. She never could find "peace of mind" she always sought out. Difficulties with her oldest son made life even more challenging. Getting up in the morning was harder than ever. Leaving the past behind, her third marriage deteriorated. Focusing on herself finally, she found that inner peace that had evaded her for the first 40 years. Now starting a new relationship with a totally different "breed" of man, she is excited for the future.
