From at least 10,000 years ago to approximately 1100CE, the Plains were very sparsely populated by humans. By approximately 850 CE, some residents of the central Plains had shifted from foraging to farming and were living in settlements. As the European colonization of North America’s Atlantic coast began Native Americans communities in the path fled, displacing their neighbors and creating a kind of domino effect in which nearly every tribe shifted location. This book has photos from the early 20th century of some of the Great Plains Indian Tribes like the Sioux, Apache, Comanche and others. There are also some details on the backgrounds of each of the tribes. Thanks for Looking.
