Through efforts and, surprisingly, occasional bouts of diplomacy, Viv has managed to turn the monster-infested calamity that is the continent of Param into a peaceful land. Halluria is pacified. Her friends, the Kark, can now live in the Steppes protected from the depredation of the Pure League. Even the remnants of the Old Empire have joined her banner with the hope of a better life. Only one disaster zone is left to reclaim. Only one blight remains: the first one, the one that drew her and almost killed her: the Deadlands. And if she manages that, well, there are two more continents to visit! Would be a shame if some tyrant united them and then crossed the ocean to murder her.
