It’s March 2020 and Callum Lange feels no need to leave his mountain abode while the state of Washington is in lockdown against the coronavirus—until a friend presents him with an unusual case. The case of a female contact tracer who visits a house above the town of Concrete in search of a resident who may have been exposed to the virus. When the contact tracer arrives at the house, she has a chilling sense of having been there before. Yet she hasn’t. Ever. In fact, she hasn’t even been to this part of Washington before. So why the shivers going up and down her spine? And the overwhelming urge to bolt? Intrigued, Lange and his partner in sleuthing, Suleka, don masks and head out into the eerie quiet of lockdown to see if they can make sense of the nonsensical.
