With the publication of Katie Boyette's third book Wearable KnitWits, fans can now have their monsters and wear them, too. After writing two books of toy patterns, Boyette is excited to take a totally new direction: wearables. And it all began with a pair of giant feet. A couple of years ago, she decided to knit a pair of slippers that looked like monster feet. They were an instant hit with both kids and adults, and even better, everyone who saw them was reduced to fits of giggles: a perfect combination of silliness and functionality. In Wearable KnitWits you'll find patterns that are cute, stylish, or just downright silly, but they're all designed to elicit a smile, such as: the Accordian Hand Warmer, Baby Monster socks, Cable Knit Yeti Scarf, Cyclops Monster Hat, and 16 more designs. Make your knitting projects more exciting than ever before with 'Wearable KnitWits, 20 Fun Designs to Knit for Adults & Kids' by Katie Boyette, who has an "obsession with knitting toys and other 3-D objects." Boyette has included a collection of playful projects with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions. Among them are a child s bib that reads feed me, lobster claw mittens, bigfoot slippers, an accordion hand-warmer and bug-in-a-rug leg warmers. --Detroit News If you like to knit for young children, or if you are one of those adults who enjoy childlike humor in your life, you are going to love Wearable KnitWits. --Katie Boyette This book has a scarf that looks like a badger and other scarves with yetis and robots. It has mittens with one-eyed monsters and bibs with angry green monsters that say FEED ME! There are Big Foot slippers and hats that look like frogs or other animals. But my favorite is probably the mittens that look like lobster claws. --MyCentralJersey.com If you like to knit for young children, or if you are one of those adults who enjoy childlike humor in your life, you are going to love 'Wearable KnitWits' by Katie Boyette. She lives in the mountains of North Carolina with her two children. Katie began knitting several years ago when she was invited to join a local Stitch 'n Bitch group. Since then she has rarely put down her needles, except for occasional meals and naps. Her obsession with knitting toys and other 3-D objects is strongly influenced by her sculpting background and her designs reflect a joyful and fun approach to this time honored craft. She keeps a blog at caffaknitted.typepad.com. Wearable KnitWits is her third book and a follow-up to her successful KnitWit and More KnitWits .
