After asking God what she should do, she heard a simple answer: “Go with Ruger again.” Soon the great dragon arrived, and she climbed onto his back. Though his body was covered with spines and ridges, they seemed to disappear beneath her, and his presence held her safely in place. They launched into the sky. Each wingbeat cracked through the air like thunder as they climbed higher, leaving the earth behind and moving out among the stars. At times Ruger spun, and the stars blurred into ribbons of gold and cobalt. As they drew closer to the radiance, a memory surfaced. Years earlier, in the middle of a deep depression, Jaden had asked heaven for a glimpse of her destiny. The answer came suddenly. She was lifted into a sky full of stars, and they seemed to call out, “You’re one of us.” The moment broke the despair and planted in her a lasting sense of belonging. Until it becomes a fire too bright to remain contained in your present form.” Jaden let out a quiet breath. Amazing. Growing until you go supernova with love—that’s what it sounded like. “My current capacity for love continues to grow, and will through all eternity,” Chrysalis continued. “As you grow into that state, you can appear in whatever form you choose, or whatever form the Father asks.” “Matter becomes pure energy,” Ruger added. Jaden turned to Ruger. “Do you think you’ll become a star someday?” “Maybe,” he replied. “A hard assignment like you may push me over the edge into stardom.” Jaden laughed. “No pressure.
