Cate MacLeod is frustrated. She’s lost her job and moved back home. At thirty-one, the last thing she wanted was to leave city living for the small town of Calvin, Massachusetts. As if that’s not bad enough, she’s now living next door to her high-strung mother and working in her gift shop. She wishes she could be as upbeat as her friend and fellow grad student Libby, who’s on a relentless campaign to teach Cate the joys of the great outdoors. Cate soon learns that not only does this small town have a killer, but also graft in town hall and illegal drug activity at the private school. Complicating things even more are Dell, a handsome but annoying cabinet maker; Charly, a Gulf War veteran with PTSD; and a 150 pound Irish wolfhound named Turbo.
