“WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?” Is a collection of 52 self affirming statements for Black women overcoming imposter syndrome, low self esteem and other negative thinking patterns. “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?” Pulls from various evidence based therapy practices to create a practical but effective therapeutic opportunity for readers to challenge and change the way they perceive themselves, their abilities and their place in the world. Listen, I understand that a lot of Black women are unable to seek therapy for any number of reasons but that doesn’t mean we all can’t know how powerful our thoughts are and harness that power to own our experiences, successes and beauty. “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? ” Is designed to be a year long journey, with you and for you. Each week, on a self identified day, readers will select a self affirming statement and each morning for the following week, they will repeat the affirmation to themselves in the mirror for 1-3 minutes. At the end of each week, readers will complete the reflection sheet attached to each self affirming statement. “WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?” Also identifies additional ways to use self affirming statements including during meditation and manifestation practices. In addition, cultural and ancestral symbolism and references have been included to remind you, the reader, of the strength, tenacity, and free Phoenix spirit of our ancestors and those gone before us.
