Who Will Dance With Pancho Villa is a play about an urban Chicano struggling to understand his self and his place in the family history, a history of warriors, fighters, strugglers over oppression and discrimination. He is gifted and educated but conflicted and repressed. Afraid to show his emotions it takes his mother's near death experience of a heart attack and the visitation of the spirits of his long dead relatives to help him realize that he still can dance, love and learn to forgive. Who Will Dance With Pancho Villa was originally produced by the Castillo Theater Company, New York City, in May of 1994 and produced a second time by the New Latino Visions theater company in April of 1997 at Brooklyn College.
