Wicked Clean helps to solve this problem by cleaning and filling those pores, adding a micro thin protective coating layer behind. Wicked Clean is a beeswax based cleaner and polish. It can be used with a clean rag or 0000 steel wool to remove etching to light debris. The mild abrasive will not scratch most surfaces. Not only does this product work well with most knife steels, but can be used on Damascus and other hardened steels.
